Top Liverpool target hints at exit from current club

Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz has teased his wide array of suitors with his latest comments, indicating a potential transfer away from Germany in the future.

The 20-year-old claimed that some point in time, he would want to take the ‘next step.’

Havertz, at the tender age of 20, has already played in the German top division for four seasons now, making himself more of a regular customer already with his creativity and direct impact on goal. He netted an impressive 20 goals in 42 appearances last season and has already hit half that number this term.

His rise to prominence has been analysed by a slew of European giants who wish to procure his services, namely Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus.

Although he has spent most of his brief career with Leverkusen, Havertz revealed that he is open to a new challenge in the future. He said:

“Leverkusen are a great club, I feel good. I have always said that. But, of course, I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That’s my ambition. I’m ready to take a big step and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad.”

While it looks like Havertz is set to stick with the project at Leverkusen for the immediate future, he could be spoilt for choice very soon with offers flowing in from the likes of Liverpool and Madrid.
