Real Madrid target Premier League star as Paul Pogba alternative
Real Madrid have made contingency plans in case Paul Pogba decides to extend his stay at Manchester United. Daily Mail report that Los Blancos want Christian Eriksen on a free transfer next summer.
Los Blancos are aware that Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham expires next summer and want to take advantage of it. The Danish star has been hesitant in signing a new deal with Spurs and is still keen on leaving.
The midfielder has publicly declared his uncertainty over his future with the North London club, “I wish I could decide just like in Football Manager, but unfortunately, I can’t.”
Real Madrid are not the only club looking for his signature, as cross-town rivals Atletico are also looking to offer him a deal when his contract expires.
Manchester United have also been linked with him. The Red Devils are ready to make an offer for him to Spurs in the January transfer window itself. But will not pursue him if Paul Pogba signs a new contract with the club.
