In what is expected to be a second successive overhaul this summer, Real Madrid are planning to sell Lucas Vazquez along with some of the other stars, according to Spanish media house AS.
They are set to offload as many as six first-team players, including Gareth Bale, Alphonse Areola, James Rodriguez, Mariano Diaz, Nacho Fernandez and supposedly now, Vazquez.
Besides a loan spell at Espanyol in 2014/15, Vazquez has served the royal white of Madrid for the entirety of his career. The 28-year-old, who has recorded over 30 league appearances in each of the last three LaLiga seasons, has only managed a meager 14 matches this time around.
Madrid seem to have lost patience with his goal-scoring returns and are planning to upgrade their attack to fight for the league crown among other trophies.
Should they complete the proposed clear-out, Zinedine Zidane’s men could install as much as €121 million and clean up a €75 million annual wage bill, even in the circumstances that has seen the squad value drop by €191 million.
Undoubtedly, in order to beef up their ranks with in-form global stars, Madrid will plan on revamping the unit. And one of them could be the outcast – Vazquez.
