Arsenal to hijack Barcelona’s move for PSG star

According to Spanish publication Sport, Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Paris Saint-Germain full-back Layvin Kurzawa and made contact with the player ahead of favourites Barcelona.

The 27-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and while Blaugrana appear as favourites to sign him, Arsenal seem determined to secure his services after they reportedly failed to land him at the Emirates in winter.

Kurzawa, viewed as a cost-effective option for Barcelona, decided to see out his contract with PSG despite various links. Having arrived at the Parc des Princes in 2015, the Frenchman has gone on to make 123 appearances and win as many as nine domestic titles.

The report says that Barcelona is his first choice, but the prospect of far more regular football at Arsenal could tempt him to switch to the Premier League. More so, owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the LaLiga champions have paused their transfer business amid serious uncertainty over proceedings.

That could mean a transfer to Arsenal is highly likely as his agent Kia Joorabchian too, asserted that his client will not play the waiting game as far as offers are considered.

Who will Layvin Kurzawa pick?
