Mauro Icardi has rebuffed the interest from Real Madrid as speculation on his future continues. Inter Milan captain has said that this isn’t the right time to join Los Blancos and also confirmed that he’s staying at San Siro.
“I don’t think this is the right time, given the results, and I’m fine where I am,”
– he told Corriere
Icardi has confirmed that he had set two goals for himself and has achieved just one of them. Unless they win a trophy, the striker has no intentions to leave the club.
“I’ve always made my goals clear: first, to return to the Champions League with Inter, and we’ve done that. Second, to win something with Inter. The [sporting] director [Piero Ausilio] has made a good team despite not being able to spend a lot,” added Icadri.
The La Masia product is now in talks with the Serie A side to renew his contract and has confirmed that he will renew the deal when the time is right.
