Luis Suarez has astonishingly sent a “do not join Barcelona” message to Lautaro Martinez. The striker has been linked with a move to Camp Nou this summer but the Inter Milan great believes it won’t be the best decision.
The 84-year-old claims that Martinez needs a bit more time before he is ready for a move to Barcelona. He has made it clear that Inter in the place for the 22-year-old right now and he has to stay there and help them get bigger.
Talking to TMW, Suarez said that Lautaro must play regularly in order to become a great player and that a move to Barcelona would reduce his chances of playing every week.
“Barcelona are stronger than Inter but everything depends on the intentions and thoughts of the Argentine. He can help Inter get bigger and here he is practically certain of a place and has everyone’s trust in him.
“In my opinion Lautaro must play in order to make another leap in quality to become a great player. At Inter he can make that further leap in quality.
“He is still young and if in two years time he wants a change of scenery then it will be another matter. It is clear that Barcelona is tempting to everyone but he can play and perform consistently at Inter.”
Apart from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in signing the striker. Martinez reportedly has a €111M release clause and all the aforementioned clubs have been in touch with the striker’s agent.
