Liverpool target Bayern Munich midfielder
Liverpool are keen on signing Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich, according to various reliable sources.
Thiago has excelled at Bayern since signing from Barcelona in 2013, winning multiple trophies with the German side. He also played an important role this year as Bayern were crowned Bundesliga champions for the eighth straight season.
The Daily Mail has confirmed that the Spaniard has been given the green light to join the Reds providing the Premier League champions can shell out €30 million.
Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick suggested that a move to England is likely for the midfielder and expressed his disappointment at potentially losing the 29-year-old, who is out of contract next year.
Liverpool are not the only club in the running as reports suggest that Manchester United have entered the race too. Adding to the Red Devils, Barcelona are also reportedly keeping tabs on their former star.
Bayern Munich were close to renewing Thiago’s contract but he pulled out of the deal at the moment as informed the club of his desire to leave.
