Liverpool keen on signing Bundesliga defender

Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his backline by bringing a centre-back to partner Virgil Van Dijk. Schalke’s highly-rated defender Ozan Kabak is one of their top transfer targets for Liverpool according to DailyMail.

The newly crowned Premier League champions are currently looking to sign a central defender in place of the Croatian Dejan Lovren who has been sold to Zenit St Petersburg.

The 20-year-old defender joined Schalke for €15 million after they activated his release clause. He has been impressive this campaign and was a vital part of their first team.

The Bundesliga side is currently facing financial problems and could be on the verge of selling some of their promising stars to European Giants which could end their financial woes.

The Turkish defender is currently listed at €40 million as per the reports and the Reds face stiff competition from Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus as these sides are also keen on landing a defender.
