Sadio Mane is not happy with Jurgen Klopp according to reports in France Football. The Liverpool star reportedly did not like the fact that the manager backed Virgil van Dijk over him in the Ballon d’Or voting.
France Football, who run Ballon d’Or every year, awarded it to Lionel Messi last year with Van Dijk coming in second. Mane was also on the top 5 and finished 4th.
The Senegal star vowed to come back this year and set his sights on the trophy as well. He has skipped the ceremony in 2019 and in a pre-recorded video, he said:
“I would have loved to be here with you, but sadly my schedule didn’t allow me, because I have a game this Wednesday. I congratulate the winner. Next year I’ll try to be there and maybe lift the Ballon d’Or!”Mane at the 2019 Ballon d’Or ceremony
The Liverpool star has been linked with a move away from Anfield with Real Madrid reportedly keen on signing him. Reports suggest Los Blancos are willing to offer £132 Million for the left-winger.
The move has bene backed by several former stars around the world. Liverpool’s rumoured interest in Jadon Sancho added more fuel to the rumours of Mane or Salah for another European giant this summer.
