Inter Milan begin talks with Barcelona star

Arturo Vidal’s time at Barcelona finally seems to be heading towards a culmination, as Inter Milan have reportedly begun talks with the former Juventus star amid all likeliness of a departure, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

After failing to land him in January despite constant efforts, Inter are now finally closing in on their longstanding target through initial negotiations.

Barcelona blocked his transfer in the winter due to an excessive number of exits, but are understood to be willing to let go of Vidal due to his age and the length of his contract – which expires at the end of next season.

Vidal joined the Catalan giants in 2018 and has since amassed 85 appearances for them. This season, the dynamic midfielder has six goals and three assists to his name.

Although he is certain to leave, Barcelona want to use him as a part-exchange element for the signing of Lautaro Martinez.

Inter, visibly unhappy with the €20 million price on a player who is to turn 33 this May, are unwilling to buy him for hefty price besides wanting a separate deal. They’re willing to offer him a three-year contract for a lesser transfer fee.

Barcelona could be forced to selling Vidal for a lesser sum as they fear losing him for free next summer.
