MADRID – UNITED TO MAKE SHOCK SWAP DEAL
Reports in Spain have suggested Real Madrid are willing to part ways with 5-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo in exchange for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
Florentino Perez is eyeing Lukaku as a replacement for misfiring striker Karim Benzema who has lost the plot at Madrid recently.
Ronaldo announced his intentions to leave the Santiago Bernabeu outfit in his speech following the Champions League final win against Liverpool and will be looking to return to the club that moulded him into the player he is today.
According to Diario Gol, Real Madrid are willing to offer Manchester United £44m + the Portuguese star for Lukaku, who had a solid first season with the Red Devils.
The report also goes on to state that contact between the two clubs has been made, but the deal will be sanctioned only after the conclusion of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
