AS Roma, Lazio and Qatari club Al Sadd are planning to sign Chelsea forward Pedro, as suggested by Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The winger, whose contract expires in June, is all set to leave the Blues after what would go down as five years of invaluable service for the club. In his time at West London, Pedro has added the Premier League, FA Cup and the Europa League to his trophy-laden cabinet.

Michael Essien backs Frank Lampard to deliver at Chelsea

With his departure seeming imminent, a host of clubs around Europe have begun monitoring his situation. Among those to have contacted his representatives are Italian sides Lazio and Roma, and Pedro’s former teammate Xavi’s side – Al Sadd.

It is believed that the latter are favourites to snap up the veteran, as Pedro himself would understandably wish to reunite with fellow World champion Xavi.

The emergence of new suitors toughens the transfer battle for the European sides, who will now be forced to fend off interest from Al Sadd.
