Chelsea in talks to sign 2 Brazilian players
According to Nicolo Schira, Chelsea are in talks with FC Porto for Alex Telles and Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.
A large amount earned from Eden Hazard’s transfer to Real Madrid, coupled with the budget granted to Frank Lampard after the club served a one-window transfer ban means the Blues are set to fork out big money in order to complete numerous deals in the forthcoming transfer window.
Currently, in search of a left-back, centre back and a striker, Chelsea have been linked with various stars across Europe. A predominant name has been Porto’s explosive full-back Telles, who is priced at €40 million.
Barcelona loanee Coutinho has also widely been touted to return to the Premier League, having failed to make the desired impact in Spain or Germany.
Leicester City have been admirers of the playmaker, but Schira states that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in his signature as well. Chelsea could, however, test him with a bigger financial muscle.
According to the above report, the Blues’ civil relationship with Telles’ agent Pini Zahavi and Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian could bolster their chances at landing the duo to Stamford Bridge.
