Chelsea to beat Manchester United in race for Bayern Munich star

Chelsea are reportedly set to beat off competition from Manchester United to sign Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

According to Bild, Chelsea could price their Premier League rivals out of a deal, with Kingsley Coman valued at £55 million.

The France international was instrumental in Bayern Munich‘s Bundesliga triumph last season. He scored five goals and providing 12 assists in 29 league games.

He has two years left on his current contract but has halted talks over a new deal. The Frenchman reportedly wants to double his wages and the Bundesliga champions are unwilling to offer him so much.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is looking to add spark to his attack after the likes of Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech failed to make a mark last season. The Blues have also been linked with a move for Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland as they look to build on their Champions League triumph last season.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are on the lookout for a winger but their top priority remains Borussia Dortmund’s, Jadon Sancho.
