Chelsea leading race to sign Real Madrid target
CHELSEA LEAD ALISSON RACE
Chelsea are in pole position to sign AS Roma shot-stopper Alisson Becker if reports in Marca are to be believed.
Real Madrid and Liverpool were both battling for the Brazilian’s signature but Chelsea seem to have pulled off a coup with a £62 million bid for the player.
Madrid had an earlier bid of £35 million rejected by Roma while Liverpool are only willing to go as high as £42 million.
All this has resulted in Chelsea emerging as the clear favourites to land the 25-year-old who kept 17 clean sheets in the Serie A last season.
Alisson is keen on a move away from Italy and is all set to replace Thibaut Courtois who has expressed his desire to return to Spain in order to remain close to his family.
Chelsea have a good relationship with AS Roma with players moving between the clubs in recent years.
Mo Salah, Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri are the latest ones to switched between the two clubs.
