Bayern Munich have lost Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery and are on the hunt for their replacements. The wingers left the club at the end of their contract last season and the Bundesliga champions have a lot of stars on their wishlist.
Manchester City‘s Leroy Sane, Chelsea‘s Callum Hudson-Odoi and Barcelona‘s Ousmane Dembele are said to be their top targets right now. While Hudson-Odoi is reportedly set to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, the other two are said to be available for transfer this summer.
Barcelona are looking to bring back Neymar and are willing to raise funds by letting go of Dembele. Bayern Munich have shown interest in the former Borussia Dortmund man but German legend, Lothar Matthaus believes they should not be signing him.
“When I think about the scandals that Dembele caused at Borussia Dortmund and at Barcelona, I see no reason to believe that he would behave differently at Bayern,” he told BILD.
The Bayern legend also pointed out that Bundesliga club’s chief, Uli Hoeness’ reaction to Dembele’s behaviour at Dortmund as another reason to doubt the transfer.
“Uli Hoeness had a clear position against Dembele’s strike at Dortmund, and if Bayern pick the player up, they would have a credibility problem,” he added.
