Barcelona planning massive swap deal with Manchester City

Barcelona are planning to offer Manchester City a sensational swap to lure outcast Joao Cancelo in an exchange that would see Nelson Semedo going the other way, the Telegraph reports.

Cancelo was in fact, bought by the Cityzens last summer in a swap deal, when Danilo was used as catalyst for the same.

However, the £60 million man has failed to establish his identity at the Etihad, having largely served as an understudy to Kyle Walker.

The Portuguese, who has just eight Premier League starts to his credit, has considerable experience in the Spanish top-flight as he served for Valencia prior to joining Juventus.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are reportedly willing to offload Semedo. Valued at around half of Cancelo’s price, the 26-year-old could come as a cost-efficient signing for Manchester City.

However, it’ll be interesting to see if Pep Guardiola wishes to let go of the highly-rated full back, who still has five years remaining on his contract.
