Atletico Madrid star informs teammates he wants to join Manchester United

Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Kieran Trippier, with the Atletico Madrid defender informing his England teammates that he would like to move to Old Trafford.

According to Daily Mail, Trippier is pushing for a move to Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bolstering his backline and Trippier has emerged as one of the Norwegian’s top targets.

Reports suggest Trippier, 30, would be available for as little as £15 million as Atletico Madrid look to raise funds to help them cope with the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kieran Trippier, who joined Atletico from Tottenham Hotspur in 2019, had a sensational campaign in 2020-21. He made 36 appearances in all competitions and helped Diego Simeone’s side win the La Liga title.

The England full-back, who has two years remaining on his current deal, has also been linked with Arsenal, who see him as a replacement for underfire Spaniard Hector Bellerin.

However, PSG are also reportedly interested in signing Hector Bellerin while Real Betis have also been linked with the Arsenal man.
