3 Premier League clubs eye Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez
Real Madrid‘s struggling midfielder James Rodriguez is on the radar of various European clubs amidst escalating speculation following yet another torrid season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
And according to Spanish publication Marca, a host of Premier League sides including Arsenal, Everton and Wolves are interested in his services.
The Colombian has failed to lay down a real influence on Real Madrid’s footballing dynamic or fortunes ever since his move from Monaco in 2014. 37 goals from 124 games without many notable contributions on a repeated basis have reduced him to the bench more often than not.
Without a doubt, the present season has been the most challenging in his career thus far, as the 28-year-old has seen just under 350 minutes of LaLiga football.
Rodriguez’s contract expires in 2021, and Madrid will surely look to cash in on profits with his transfer. While a move to Goodison Park is considered favourite due to his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti, his influential agent Jorge Mendes could work negotiations with familiar clients in Wolves.
Arsenal’s longstanding interest in James Rodriguez makes them promising suitors as well.
With Los Blancos poised to offload him without much strain, it may well be down to the player himself to decide his next employers.
